Hello everyone,

Over the past two Canlan tournaments the coaching and more importantly the players have learned plenty about the potential of our club and what it takes to compete for a full 45 minutes.

Although these tournament games are building blocks for the upcoming season what a confidence boost winning our last Spring tournament has given the boyz…

On behalf of the coaching staff we want to thank you all for your efforts in supporting the TEAM on and off the ice and wish you all great summer…

See you soon!!!

Hello everyone,

As you are aware, our team will be participating in the Canlan Spring tournament this weekend. We are excited to see the boyz in action over the next five games; and while we all want them to do their best and win the coaching staff objectives this weekend will include the following;

1. Player assessment – What are his strengths / weaknesses
2. Team assessment – Tactical play analysis and basic team concepts
3. Overall team conditioning – Preperation for Athletic Republic evaluation

And most importantly; the purpose of entering these off season tournaments is to reward the boyz for their power skating sessions and settle in the new additions to the team.

See you all this weekend!!!

Hello everyone,

I’m hoping that you all got a good nights rest after an action packed four days in Motown. I’d like to express my infinite gratitude to everyone that helped make this trip a success;

Firstly, the boyz for they competed hard all weekend and made us proud as we saw them grow as a unit both on and off the ice. They are a special group as we look forward to an exciting season.

Secondly, I want to thank the coaching staff including Emilio Carinci, Anthony Carinci, Michael Ciarallo, Paolo Piro and Joe DiMaria. I have no words to express my gratitude to you as your tireless work effort during this past weekend said it all and proved to the parents that WE DO HAVE THE BEST COACHING STAFF, Thank you.

And finally I want to thank all the parents (Team-Behind-The-Team). In my experince, the Team-Behind-The-Team is the ingredient necessary in building a successful minor hockey team, not based on Wins and Losses, however based on long lasting memories well after the buzzer ends the game.

Peace.

COACHING PHILOSOPHY

Posted by Rocco Alonzi at Mar 15, 2009 9:14AM PDT ( 0 Comments )

My job as a coach is very simple! I’m here to ensure that the children on this team can become all that they can in the game of hockey. My overall responsibility is leading by example for the players, parents and coaches to respect all aspects of hockey including:

 Encouraging values of fair play and sportsmanship

 Rules of game

 Officials and their decisions

 The opponents

 Equal opportunities for all players

 Win or lose, maintain respect for above.

In the last 20 years of coaching competitively, I have managed to be part of one championship season and have been part of many other successful seasons. However, my most rewarding experiences have been with teams where success was measured by more than wins and losses. I hope to lead us through this season educating your kids about means of accomplishment not necessary related to wins and losses.
